Forcepoint Data Center Modernization Notice - Frankfurt (Cluster B)

Scheduled for Sep 19, 17:00 UTC  -  Sep 21, 17:00 UTC

Scheduled

Forcepoint will be conducting planned maintenance in the Frankfurt datacenter on Friday, September 19th at 05:00 PM UTC for approximately 48 hours. The upgrade originally scheduled for August 2025 has been moved to September. During this time, the data storage facility associated with Cluster B will experience downtime ,Customers will not be able to query the data store in Frankfurt (B) ; however, they will have access to the CDS store in secondary locations.

This upgrade might result in a short duration of web and email traffic downtime. During the downtime, network traffic will be routed to alternate data centers so that communications are not affected.

During this transition, most customers will not need to make any changes to their cloud web or cloud email configuration. The exceptions are Web customers who have GRE or IPsec Advanced tunneling where the primary/secondary pair is either:

Both Frankfurt (B) and Paris (D). In this case, the Frankfurt tunnel should be pointed to Heathrow (A).

The VPoP conversions will maintain localization of all web traffic. Unless you are notified by Forcepoint, no changes will be required: all data center IP ranges will remain the same, all redirection methods (tunneling, endpoint/PAC, firewall redirect) will be unaffected.

If you connect to the cloud service via PAC file, Forcepoint Web Security Endpoint, traffic will automatically be redirected to an alternative data center during the maintenance window. Web Security Cloud customers using these connectivity methods should not experience any downtime.

Cloud Email
Customers who are using the Frankfurt (B) cluster for Cloud Email will continue to receive emails as long as they are using their secondary cluster. However, during the downtime, access to logs and quarantined messages will not be available if Frankfurt is their primary cluster.

IPsec and GRE
If you connect via IPsec or GRE tunneling to one of the affected data centers, in order to maintain connectivity during maintenance you must ensure that you have configured backup connections to another data center. For more information, see the redundancy and failover guidance for IPsec Advanced and GRE connectivity:

If you connect via another method, such as firewall redirection or proxy chaining, directly to one of the data centers above, you must take steps to redirect traffic to an alternative data center during the maintenance window. Contact Technical Support for additional guidance.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate the cooperation.
